streetcar named desire H/M

why does Blanche replace the bottle and wash the glass after having a drink?

blanch could be generally afraid of admitting to herself that she drinks way too much for her own good and so by replacing the bottle she is fooling herself and pretending as though she never drank. this could be a method of helping her cope with reality, by washing away the evidence of her destruction .

pick out the pet names for Stella and explain why she uses them
the pet names for stella are 'stella the star' , blanch uses this to tell us that she thinks of her sister as still a young child, or maybe that she feels protective over her sister and wants to keep her in the state of 'happiness' of when they were once children and names like that were appropriate for her age .

what evidence is there that Blanche is concerned about her looks?what does this say about her character?
when blanche came over to Stella apartment in New Orleans, she kept asking how she looked ,this told me that she worries about her appearance often and isn't comfortable with it .

what is blanches reaction to were Stella lives?
Blanche, at first couldn't believe that what she was seeing was Stella's apartment, she also kept asking if this really could be her home .
